The Inn
Butterfly House is an eco-boutique guesthouse located on Cassange Beach in the Maraú Peninsula, Bahia, more precisely in Ponta da Baleia, 250 km south of Salvador and 114 km north of Ilhéus, the two closest airports. The property has 10 bungalows and 8 suites, all well decorated and completely set in a tropical forest. Its facilities include a swimming pool, a family recreation area, a restaurant serving traditional food, a beach bar with a seaside deck and a yoga deck – all surrounded by hectares of tropical gardens.
Thanks to clever architecture and incredible attention to detail, the guesthouse is carved from nature and harmonizes with the forest. Living roofs with an internal structure of grass thatch, treated Colombian bamboo, reclaimed timber and recycled materials form the basis of Butterfly House. And just as the exteriors reflect the surrounding forest, the interiors are a blend of warmth and bohemian comfort.

How to get there
• From the BR-030 junction, approximately 40km of dirt road.
• Sporty/lowered cars are not recommended.
• After passing through Algodões, in another 8km you will arrive at the village of Saquaíra.
• Passing through Saquaíra and continuing straight ahead, the first right will be the entrance to the Bahia Boa guesthouse; continue straight ahead. (The GPS may tell you to enter, but follow it).
• In 1.5km you will pass over a speed bump, you will see a wooden bus stop on your right.
• Turn right, just after the bus stop and continue.
• Turn right after passing the municipal school.
• On the trail, follow for 700m to the inn.
